Make a Difference Day

Thanks to all the volunteers and companies that helped make our "Make a Difference Day 2009" service project a huge success!!!

Saturday, October 24th was national "Make a Difference Day"  Unbridled Change joined the national day of service with our project "Building a Corral at Unbridled Change"

The following Companies made our projects possible:

Fencing Labor and Materials - Fence Builders Inc., Boones Mill, VA

Landscaping - Team Leader: Willow Tree Nursery and donors - Black water and Maggoddee Creek Nursery in Boones Mill, VA

Supporters - ASAP Promotions, PapaJohn's Pizza in Rocky Mount VA, and Tightsqueeze Post and Pulp Company

On October 24th we were able to participant in a national effort by completing our Build a Corral project.  With the help of volunteers we were able to constructing 3 new corrals and finishing our new indoor riding arena with the help of you and the community!

Below is an outline of the different "projects" worked on:

Building the Corrals:

3 new day paddocks (or corrals) were constructed in order for us to have a safe place for our horses to relax during the day and in between session times for the children we service.  Having these corrals will not only provide a place for our horses but also a safe "trail environment for our riders and clients to hold their therapy sessions in.

Landscaping:

The volunteers did an awesome job following the landscape design by Willow Tree Nursery.  We were able to plant of $1200 dollars wroth of donated shrubs, trees, and flower to help make the arena site feel warm and inviting to our kids and their families.

Building a new Riding Ramp:
Volunteers also helped to construct a new riding ramp that will allow us to safely mount our riders with special needs plus provide a great observation arena for the parents to watch.
