Global Youth Service Day Project - April 23rd & 24th from 9-3pm
Unbridled Change is excited to be participating in an international day of youth service! Global Youth Service Day is an annual campaign that celebrates and mobilizes the millions of children and youth who improve their communities each day of the year through service and service-learning.
Our service project will be building a pony wall inside our indoor arena. Plywood panels need to be installed and painted around the perimeter of the indoor arena to provide the area with a smooth surface. The smooth surface is needed for two purposes -- to prevent a rider's foot from becoming stuck/rubbed into a gate panel - trapping them and to prevent a horse's hoof from getting stuck in a gate panel as well. The "pony wall" will also provide Unbridled Change with an area to showcase thoughts and lessons learned from clients who come to Unbridled Change. Volunteers, supporters, clients, and other participants in the program will be able to share their memories of their time at Unbridled Change by painting their hand-print, signing, or drawing a picture on the walls in relationship the statement "Horses have taught me..."

Unbridled Change is excited to be partnered with Wendy's franchise in Rocky Mount VA.
Wendy's has always supported organizations that work with foster-care children and their families. Unbridled Change is excited that our local Wendy's in Rocky Mount has agreed to help us raise funds every month to help provide scholarships for needy families. During our designated day between 5 & 8 pm Wendy's will donated 20% of all sales for the evening. This is a great way to support Unbridled Change and our mission while enjoying great food - drive in and dine-in both qualify so stop in for a frosty or diner on your way home for work!
We have taken a break for the winter months due to the unusual weather we have had but look for us to start back up in the spring!
In the month of January we raised $292 - help us bet that next time!!!
Help us spread the word - this fundraiser only works if we get people out to Wendy's to enjoy great food! Just a few ideas on what you can do to help:
- Send emails out to your friends,
- ask for an announcement at church or to be put in the church bulletin,
- spread the word at the gym,
- make it your date night...
Open Houses and Demos
With the coming of spring Unbridled Change will be starting back up with our monthly open houses. Please join us for a relaxed tour of our faculties and demonstration of our services. Benefits of attending an open house:
- great way to check us out, met and greet our staff and horses,
- learn more about the different services we offer,
- great time to ask questions and see if we are right for you - either as a service provider or a place to volunteer,
- you have the opportunity to try out our services by particpating in a hands-on demo if you choose.

- Sunday, March 28th from 2-3 pm
- Saturday, April 24th from 2-3 pm
Hosting an EAGALA Part 1 Training May 6-8, 2010
Unbridled Change is excited to be hosting Virginia's 1st international EAGALA Part 1 training. We will be the host-site and facility for the international Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) to conduct a 3-day Part 1 training that is a requirement for their certification. Next official VA EAGALA Networking Meeting on Sunday, May 9th from 10-1 pm - hosted at Unbridled Change.
The networking group is open to all EAGALA members and EAGALA certified professionals. The meeting is a networking opportunity for EAGALA practitioners to come together, network, offer support, and sharpen their facilitation skills with mock sessions and discussions!
