We need your help! Whether it's helping with the horses, volunteering at our events, or collecting donations, we need you.

We also are in need of financial support to complete our mission!

Unbridled Change is a place for Hope, Healing, and Growth

At Unbridled Change our goal is to empower our clients to feel they have the confidence to live fully throughout all of life’s ups and downs.

We have three main programs to support our clients along their unique journey:

Unbridled Hope (children and teens)
Unbridled Healing (young adults, adults, and families)
Unbridled Growth (adults looking for that next level of embracing life fully)

Each program is designed to meet you where you are at on your life’s journey and provide you with the personalized private support you need.

We have a simple, but robust mission: to provide quality mental health therapy in partnership with the healing power of our horses. We do that by focusing on our clients and our horses. We want to make a difference in the lives of our clients!

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy

Trauma, neglect, and shame can shatter our nervous system, creating a disconnect between our body, mind, and spirit.  The result may leave you feeling trapped by an overwhelming ocean of fear, paralyzing what ifs, anger, and suffering in-between the life your soul yearns for and the fortress you built to survive that hides your inner pain.

We believe Unbridled Change can help you build the bridge to your true self and lasting connections to others on the pillars of – trust, respect, willingness, connection, and purpose.  Building true relationships with horses based on these pillars allows you to build your own bridge over the ocean of fears to the thriving life you desire and want!

Over the past 17 plus years, our founder, Michelle Holling-Brooks, has developed a style of Equine Assisted Therapy to address the whole person combining:

  • neuroscience,
  • trauma and attachment therapy,
  • and hands-on experiences of developing partnerships and relationships with horses.

Imagine, for a moment, being free from the negative beliefs and thought patterns that feel like they are holding your life hostage.

Unbridled Change and our approach to mental health therapy combined with the relationship and lessons learned from partnering with our horses can provide you with an opportunity to see and heal those patterns.

Our proven process allows you to develop a new system of being in relationship with yourself and others that empowers you to step forward into your life!

The Process - Building an Strengthening the 5 Pillars to Embracing Life

The pillars of embracing life create a bridge build inner trust, the ability to respect yourself and ask/give respect to others.  Once you have created a secure bond to yourself, based on choice not strings, willingness to be open to the connections of life comes naturally.  From that willingness to engage in life you become free to connect to others based on your "why" and authentic your purpose and values.  All these elements create the bridge back to your true authentic self.  Learning to be in the dance of partnership and relationship with a horse can allow your mind, body, and spirit to reconnect and heal.

Are you a science geek like us and want to know more about the science and training behind our therapeutic approach?  Below are some links to the main influences behind our approach and we'd be happy to chat about how we work these models into our work with clients during the meet and greet consultation:

Mental Health Models - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Therapy, CBT/DBT, Strength based theory, and Systems theory

Neuroscience - Mindfulness skills and executive functioning skills designed around rewiring the brain

Horses - We believe that horses are sentient beings and therefore have the right to chose to be in a relationship with us - the closest "horsemanship" theory to our program is renowned trainer, Carolyn Resnick

Our approach to finding Hope and Healing

"The horse has much to share with us in how to communicate with all things in our lives. They teach us how to grow our awareness, our communication abilities, how to guide and influence others to support our wants and needs, and how to build an understanding and a connection in unity and harmony with others."  By Carolyn Resnick
